After a day of treating patients with braces and Invisalign® at our location in Navarre Florida, Dr. Callahan and Dr. Shehee sometimes like to unwind by hitting the links for a relaxing round of evening golf.
Here is Shehee & Callahan Family Orthodontics list of 5 things you need to ask before scheduling a tee time at either of these beautiful local golf courses near Navarre.
- Is my preferred tee time available?
If your golf calendar is only open for a short window, then this is the most important question you need to answer. Not only should you call and ask if your time slot is available, it’s also important to ask if there are any golf tournaments or events that would cause your round to take longer than expected.
- Does the club offer a local rate, seasonal rate or a discount for green fees?
You never want to overpay for green fees. It’s important to ask if you qualify for a discounted rate. The Club at Hidden Creek offers members, military and first responders a discount on green fees. Tiger Point Golf Club offers a senior discount rate on Tuesdays and Thursdays in addition to a very generous military discount for active and retired military members.
- Am I looking to be challenged or for an easy day of golf?
Your handicap or desire for challenge will most likely be an important factor when choosing a golf course near Navarre. For a more casual round, we suggest The Club at Hidden Creek, which plays 5,795 yards from the white tees. If you are wanting to be more challenged, we recommend Tiger Point Golf Club which boasts more hazards and plays a bit longer at 6,083 yards from the white tees.
- What is the rain check policy if the weather does not cooperate?
If stormy weather is in the forecast, we recommend choosing Tiger Point Golf Club. Unlike The Club at Hidden Creek, Tiger Point Golf Club offers a rain check if your round is interrupted by bad weather.
- What are the cart rules and rates?
Cart fees are included in the green fees at both courses. Rules may change due to rain, but typically Tiger Point Golf Club is a little more flexible allowing you to drive in the fairways with a “30 yards from the green” rule. The Club at Hidden Creek requires cart path only with a 90-degree rule after rainy days.
After a relaxing day of golf with friends or co-workers, it’s a good idea to plan an exciting experience for an evening out with your family. After all, it’s important to balance your alone time on the links with family activities to maintain a strong relationship.
