What To Expect for a Navarre Beach Day

Given it is Florida, the Sunshine State after all, do plan for the sun.  Pack your sunscreen.  Anything less than SPF 30 is truly a wasted effort.  The white quartz sand intensifies the sun making you feel at times misleading cool while you burn.  Shade isn’t a bad idea either.  You’ll find plenty of places to purchase a beach umbrella.  Apply sunscreen even if you plan to spend much of your time in the shade.  The sun’s rays reflect off the sand.  Another note about the sand, because it is quarts you will not burn your feet while walking on it.  This is a game changer especially for sensitive feet – you can walk around without shoes!

Encounter Nature & Marine Life

The water is so clear down here!  At times, you’ll be waste deep and still see your toes.  Bring a snorkel and mask!  You never know what you may see.  There are plenty of small fish looking to get to know you.  Some crackers are always a special treat to these curious little guys.  If the Gulf is too rough, check out the bay.  Locals refer to the bay as “the sound”.   It’s the perfect place to snorkel especially if it’s your first time.  When you’re comfortable with your snorkeling skills, it’s time to check out Navarre Beach’s artificial reef sites: East Sound Side Reef, West Sound Side Reef and the Gulf Side Reef.  These reefs are home to diverse creatures like coral, turtles, stingrays, fish and octopuses.  You never know what you may find or what may find you!

Where to Start Your Adventure

If you’re visiting from out of town, we recommend tourists start their adventure at the Navarre Beach Pier. Directions from our practice to this central beach location are available here.
