Getting braces, or any other form of orthodontic care is one of the “big” events in life for most people. It signals that the end of orthodontics is in sight – which means straight teeth are on the horizon.

But what happens if you run into a problem during orthodontic treatment? It’s not always easy to know what to do. Orthodontic emergencies can be more difficult to deal with than other oral problems, simply because they involve a lot more parts. Let’s look at some tips to help deal with it.

Find the pieces
If you’re experiencing an orthodontic emergency, chances are that you’ve had braces installed by a orthodontist. Most people will end up with the traditional style of braces with wires and brackets.

To help Dr. Ed Shehee and Dr. Chad Callahan fix your broken braces, it’s important that you find any of the broken pieces that may be laying around. Even if all you find are broken pieces, bringing them in will help us get you back out in no time.
